"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
John Wesley
Whackstar Media and Communication is deeply committed to helping people communicate better, especially in remote and underserved communities. Our work goes beyond providing services—we aim to empower individuals and organisations through connectivity, helping them "follow the star" and make a meaningful impact.
Turi Children’s Project
One of our standout CSR initiatives is the Turi Children’s Project, a drop-in centre for underprivileged children. Whackstar Media used this project as a pilot to provide free internet access, allowing the children to learn online and develop digital skills. Today, the project includes a small computer centre that helps upskill students, with the internet connection donated by Whackstar Media making all the difference in their education.
Sponsor an Internet Connection
We invite individuals and organisations to sponsor internet connections in remote communities. The approximate cost for the infrastructure is 2000 USD, with a monthly connection fee of 100 USD. Organisations looking for a connection can also apply, provided they align with the Whackstar Philosophy and demonstrate how the connection will help their community "follow the star." To sponsor a connection or inquire about eligibility, please get in touch with us at admin@whackstar.co.uk.
Sponsor-A-Flight Program
Looking ahead, we are developing a Sponsor-A-Flight Program, which will eventually provide emergency relief flights for individuals who can’t afford it and need life-saving treatment. We plan to partner with organisations like AMREF and MAF to bring this vision to life. The program will allow people to sponsor flights, directly contributing to saving lives.
Upcoming Fundraising Adventure: The Electric Ride Across Kenya
Wayne is planning an exciting journey across Kenya to raise awareness and funds for our current projects, including the Turi Children’s Project. He will ride a Kenyan-built ROAM Electric motorbike from Lake Victoria to Watamu, showcasing the power of connecting remote communities. The journey will be documented on the Whackstar YouTube channel, highlighting how transformative communication access can be. We are actively seeking sponsors, media partners, and donations to make this adventure a reality. If you're interested in supporting this cause, don't hesitate to get in touch with us, or perhaps even join Wayne on the ride.
