The Vision…

Meet Wayne Hackman, the Founder

Whackstar Media and Communication was born out of Wayne’s passion for empowering others through meaningful connections, leadership, and innovation. With over 20 years of experience as a youth pastor and chaplain in diverse locations such as the UK, Bermuda, and East Africa, Wayne’s journey has always been about helping people find their true path in life—what he calls “Following the Star."

Wayne’s Christian faith is at the heart of everything he does. Although Whackstar Media is not overtly Christian in its presentation, the company is deeply guided by the scripture 2 Peter 1:19: “We have the prophetic word as a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” This belief shapes the company’s mission: to bring light and hope to those navigating through challenges, just as Wayne has done throughout his career.

Wayne is not just a faith leader but also a hands-on innovator. He has been instrumental in setting up youth projects worldwide, using technology to reach and inspire young people. His practical skills and digital literacy initiatives have helped young people build computers, set up internet cafés and learning centres, and even launch youth-led radio stations—empowering the next generation.

He has created several successful YouTube tutorials, including building phone PBX systems using a Raspberry Pi and developing affordable power systems for people on a budget—particularly helping communities in Kenya. A licensed ham radio operator, Wayne has also experimented with various radio communication setups, offering reliable connectivity solutions in challenging environments. In addition to his technological achievements, Wayne is working towards his private pilot licence.

Though Whackstar Media and Communication is a British-based company, Wayne’s long-standing love for travel and adventure has made East Africa his home away from home. His vision is simple yet profound: he wants to help people find the star, follow the star, and transform the world with the star’s light. Whether through leadership training, communication solutions, or charitable efforts, Wayne aims to make a positive impact, one connection at a time. His commitment to servant leadership and humble service drives everything that Whackstar Media and Communication stands for, giving us hope for a brighter future.
